Chasen (Matcha Whisk) Care

Follow these tips to keep your Chasen in optimal condition.
  1. 1. When whisking
    Dip in water before use to make the tips less brittle (soak for about 1-2 minutes). Rinse in water – without soap – soon after use.

  2. 2. Clean
    Gently remove stuck powder after whisking.

  3. 3. Dry
    Dry in the open air. Leaving it in the case can lead to mold.

  4. 4. Store
    A whisk stand (chasen-tate) holds it in shape as it dries.

Note: Replace the chasen when the tips are broken. Only use with water and matcha. For lattes, add milk (or alternative) after whisking.
